Kristina Palett (born 1994, in Kosterevo, Russia) is a contemporary artist who explores the fleeting nature of memory, the relationship between the tangible and intangible, reality and imagination. Palette is a graduate of the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. The artist has participated in group exhibitions and art fairs in the United States and Russia. She now lives and works in Moscow.
Kristina works primarily with painting and drawing, actively using watercolour, coloured pencils and oil. Her works are characterised by complex textures through sanding and layering. Palett's recent series is devoted to the exploration of sound. The artist attempts to translate it into visual form, representing the audible in abstraction. As Palett notes, her works are like musical improvisation - she starts with random strokes around which the final composition is built.
