At the core of Anastasia Gnedenkova’s artistic practice lies a visual interpretation of complex emotional states and impressions. Each of her works emerges as a reflection on a particular stage of life, serving as a page from a personal diary. Erased and uneven lines mirror inner chaos and uncertainty while symbolizing vulnerability and imperfect beauty.
The central theme of her work is the coexistence of opposing forces within the human experience. By exploring inner conflict through composition—where dark, rough patches overlay delicate pastel shades—she embraces these contradictions and observes how seemingly incompatible and conventionally “imperfect” elements come together to form a cohesive and unique image.
Anastasia was born in Saint Petersburg in 1998. In 2022, she graduated from Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, specializing in Architecture. She is currently a practising architect. Together with Mute. gallery, she participated in the Blazar Art Fair (2024). She has also taken part in group exhibitions, including “RAF: All Flowers” at Sevkabel Port (2024) and “Saturday” at Brusnitsyn Hall (2023).
